Santa visited Evan's school. Evan was not interested in talking with Santa unless I went with him.

Our Little Preschooler
"Preschooler"....WOW! It is so hard to believe that we have a preschooler now. It seems like yesterday that Evan was just a newborn. He started preschool last week and just loves it. Today was his first full day and he did great! He always has lots of stories to tell me on the way home. We are so thankful that he likes school and his teachers. We certainly are proud of him!
Other than starting preschool we have been busy doing some activities to end the summer. We went to the speedway which was a huge hit with Evan, and we have played putt-putt a few times. Evan is really good at putt-putt. It never fails that he gets a least one hole-in-one. Here is a photo of his first day of school. He fell and bumped his nose a week before school started, so he did have two black eyes.
Please send us a note! We would love to hear from you!

September 2007....you're kidding me?!?
Ok...I can't believe it has been so long since I have updated this crazy blog. I guess keeping up with Evan has become a bigger job now, so time is just flying by. Evan is so big now, he still loves trucks, motorcycles and most of all Lightning McQueen. He was all into the Lightning McQueen Cars movie for the longest time and can even quote lines from the movie....we all can. I am happy to say that now he is really fond of Veggie Tales. He loves Silly Songs with Larry (the cucumber). I highly recommend the Veggie Tales videos and music because it is entertaining for preschoolers and parents. Evan is quite and handful and can still tell us a thing or two. He is also fond of saying things to me that I have said to him. He likes calling me Mr. Bossy and telling me that my mouth is sassy. It's quite funny how those things come back to you.
I am proud to say that Evan is completely potty trained and has been since late March. It didn't seem to take him too long to catch on. He had quite the motivation though. He got quarters when he successfully used the potty and he is excited about starting preschool in September. Yes, my baby is starting preschool in September. I think he'll be fine, but I'm sure it will be hard for me. He is excited about preschool and I know it will be a good experience for him.
Let's see...Gary has started a new job. He got a better offer, one where he can work from home with limited travel. Evan and I are both thrilled to have him here every day and I think we are all much happier. Evan had no trouble adjusting to having Daddy working at home and really doesn't bother him too much.
Smokie is recovering from a bout of pneumonia which just came up late last week. He's doing much better and we are hoping for a full recovery. Evan is his little sidekick. We knew that Smokie loved Evan, but when we picked him up from the doggie hospital Friday, he went right to Evan and licked him square in the face. Then, he came to me. It was quite sweet. I'm glad that they have become friends.
Well that's about it for now. Maybe I can keep up with this blog a little better in the coming months!
